Wanted to stopover in Dubai early December on the way home with Emirates J. Would Dubai be crowded and full on Security with COP happening ? Needed to stop, getting older and finding the London to Sydney a tad long.
There is always something happening in Dubai - so I don't think you have to worry specifically about COP. If doing a stopover, you can try one of the Hyatt's which are 15 mins (at most) from T3.
I did stay at Holiday Inn Dubai Airport once, but cannot recommend it.
