Hi forum.. like many I suppose, my partner and I booked a trip to Fiji due to travel just after COVID changed the world. We couldn't get our money back so have been moving the resort credit every 6 months since. We are due to travel in Feb '22 and understand there may be risks we may get it there and have to extend etc etc. But I feel people are incredulous when we tell them we intend to travel.. am I missing something? Would love to know if other people are travelling.. particularly Fiji.. what are the recent experiences? Thanks!!

I know lots of people that have been to Fiji and many other parts of the world and had a great time.

Recently they had some issues getting PCR testing done for returning passengers but with the recent changes accepting RAT tests on return to Australia this seems to have gone away.

Enjoy your trip and don't look back!

We were there late December through to early January, no issues at all. The resort had onsite testing which ran both RAT and PCR tests, everything was considered by the resort and the staff very knowledgeable about requirements. A few people tested positive whilst we were in the resort, they were quarantined and the facility was cleaned with minimal fuss.

Would recommend.

Had a wonderful 3-week trip around Europe earlier this month. My advice would be to enjoy your trip, make sure you're on top of the paperwork ... and don't even think about travelling anywhere without being triple-vaxed.

Another that spent Xmas in Fiji, was fine and no issues. Just do it and get on living your life, none of us are guaranteed tomorrow.

There will always be scared and hysterical people who are incredulous about almost anything. Each person should do as they want and not listen to comments which are negative. Personally in the last 9 months I have travelled to Hong Kong and Singapore twice, both when quarantine was required in all countries and when it was not deemed necessary. Some things are a little different and take slightly more organising but it felt great to be one of the earlier people who made the decision to get on with life.

In the past 4 months since I left Australia I have been to Germany, Austria and Italy. Now travelling Croatia. You can do it if you want to. And I'm also vaccine free!

Spent Christmas at the Hilton Denarau in Fiji with the family. Pretty easy and pain free, with the testing available at the hotel. The Fijian people were incredibly glad to have tourists returning after the best part of two years of no wages. Let the naysayers stay home.....go and have your holiday.

Despite what has been indicated and I have been triple vaccinated, I think unvaccinated people will have the same freedoms very soon.

Richard W. You would think so. I'm vaccine free, travelling around Croatia, got covid 2 weeks ago, got over it after 2 days, yet NSW still wants me to do 14 days quarantine when I return. Nothing makes sense, other than some people seem to love discrimination in some form or another.
