I've tried to work this out myself - and think I have - but want to check with the experts on here to see if I have it right.
I'm taking an SQ flight in D and have both krisflyer and velocity accounts.
Basically, I'm pretty sure I'd like the points to end up in my velocity account, since I have exactly zero krisflyer points and am confident that velocity points will be more useful to me for my expected travel.
So! It seems I can either choose to have the points directly accrued to velocity, or transfer them later. Also seems that if I go direct, they accrue at one-to-one, (at 125% of miles in D with either krisflyer or velocity) but if I transfer later it becomes 1.35:1, kris to velocity. Hence it seems clear I should accrue direct to velocity, but like I say just want to check that I have all this right. Am I missing something?
No, you're not missing anything. Enter your velocity number in your Singapore booking and the points will be there about 4-5 days after your flight. It's a much better deal than transferring krisflyer to velocity later on.
