Hi,

would I be able to get a tax deduction for the amex platinum charge? $1200 a year is a bit to much, but would apply if I could get a deduction on it.

if its the personal card, you cant, have tried several times, got it through 1 year, but was challenged in subsequent years - you can only get it on the business version - as that's the argument from ATO, if its all related to your work, why don't you have a business\corporate version.....

The only person who can answer this is your accountant after reviewing your personal situation.

Just FYI, AMEX provides the following advice on some of its business cards, but these are obviously different to personal cards: "The annual fee may be tax deductible, provided the Card is used solely for business purposes. There may be tax implications. You are advised to check with your accountant or tax advisor for further information."
