I know (now) there is a little check box to disable automatic notifications of replies to posts in threads, but is there someway to default it to off and have to actively check it if you want them?
I have looked in settings and cannot find anything.
I know I could just remember to uncheck it but I is not habitual and is bloody annoying to get your email flooded with pointless emails telling you someone else has posted - it's getting to where I may stop posting because it really pis*es me off.

YES! Couldn't agree more. Sid can this checkbox please be off by default so that you have to opt in?
