If Air NZ can manage 787s and 777s surely a VA a330 on the route would work. The problem is that VA only have 6 a330s in their fleet, limiting their number of routes. VA should order some more 777s and a330s for international expansion, right now VA's international network is a joke.

Qantas, even if you get the skybeds it's still better than EKs buisness on the 777, the fake gold just looks cheap and by October 6/10 qantas a330-300s will have the new buisness suites so you'd probably be better off with Qantas as youd have more chance of getting a better configuration.
