It's interesting that Qantas sent out a newsletter with the subject "Japan is now open". I hope the public doesn't rely on that to book flights only to be denied boarding at the airport when it is revealed that they are not booked on a tour.

Looks like Japan has removed the testing and vaccination requirement to enter for Australians: https://www.mofa.go.jp/ca/fna/page4e_001053.html#title4
Wonder if there is still the requirement to be on a tour to enter?

Given that we join a long list of countries and those countries aren't freely entering Japan.......... I'd say yes, stuck on a tour
