For 3-4 weeks now since booking i have been unable to view the seat map or select/purchase desired seats on upcoming trip to Munich with Emirates that was booked thru QF. Is this actually no longer available online as a Emirates online agent has told me? Would be preferable to at least be able to see the seat map prior to ringing up to book seats if nothing else...
It states on the Qantas/Emirates partnership page that you cannot select seats on Emirates flights online.
It is not difficult to work out what your seat map will be, use a tool like Expert Flyer. If you are on a 777 out of Australia the best seat is 6K. If an A380, Window seats in rows 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 18 and 23 are the best imo.
You can select EK seats if using a QF flight number via the Emirates website. Simply put your Qantas 6 digit booking number in the appropriate manage booking field.
You can view the seat map and pay for any applicable seating fees directly with EK via their manage booking portal.
Thanks Nalanji, that's what i had thought and have yes booked on QF flight numbers and using booking reference it all comes up, however when going to select seats the website says the seats cannot be priced, so it would appear that vhojm is correct here and it does seem to say that now that i have looked on the partnership website....

you can only select seats using EK booking number (which will show the EK flight numbers) and after the ticket has been issued.
