I've been a fan of on-ear for sometime but recently I'm questioning why. I've used all the good brands, and lost a few on planes along the way. No doubt they are good and fantastic at noise-cancelling but as noted above they are annoying or sleeping.
I've tried a few cheap in-ear's recently (non-NC) and find them great. I'm off to LA next week so I might get a new set over the weekend to replace my large over-ear NC's.

Take my Marley Zion's on every flight. Don't like the bulky 'phones as I can doze off to sleep still with my Marley's still in my ears.
