How do I add a profile picture in AusBT?

Google 'Gravatar' and set one up.

I believe it only works for new posts as well.

Actually it does, you just clearly haven't created a gravatar using the same email address you use for AusBT.

Also, if you're logging into AusBT with Facebook, make sure you put the email address in your AusBT profile (you can make it private).
