• Not as enthused as everyone else - the Lizzie is a great addition to the TfL network, but specifically for Heathrow, it's not cheap enough to compete with the Piccadilly or fast enough to compete with Heathrow Express. It just ends up being a slow middle ground which is fine if you live in Totten...

  • "or if the flight is on an Airbus A330 or a Boeing 777, see if it has a premium economy cabin, as the jets with regional business class only have business and economy."None of the Cathay Pacific A330s have premium economy anymore, and their A330s with longhaul business class have economy straight...

  • Oof. This means you'll be in their leased LATAM aircraft, which don't feature WiFi or direct aisle access. The only thing you can bet for is an equipment swap since your flight's so far out.

  • On the Hong Kong route, QR815 and QR818 have QSuites too! (QR815/6 get swapped out quite a bit unfortunately, though the same can be said for all of the other routes.) There's also QR57/58 for Munich, and QR1/2 which should be run by QSuite A350-900s.

  • I agree – an Apex Suite-configured narrowbody would be spectacular. That would basically be a longer version of Korean Air's 747-8 upper deck, which I've flown, and is spectacular. However it's important to consider the sub-US$1,600 RT prices that La Compagnie is offering. These planes are ...

  • Watch the seatmap more closely – it's a Solstys style configuration, as seats E and F are closer together. Just imagine an aisle between columns A and D, and columns G and K.I swear they mentioned something about a door once, so I'm guessing something along the lines of QSuite.

  • Jamesflyer, as you see people here have differing opinions on The Pier. Having been there 3-4 times myself I for one believe it’s absolutely worth it — I enjoy the spaciousness, the food, the variety of things to do, the variety of seating and the sheer number of amenities. I think th...

  • While I've heard lots about Qantas' amazing First Class lounge in Sydney, unfortunately they seem to overshadow the adjacent international business class lounge. I'll be flying from Sydney to Hong Kong in Cathay Pacific business class next February, and would like to know more about the food opti...

bob342, since you're in business class on a oneworld airline, you'll have access to all oneworld business class lounges in Hong Kong. I personally recommend The Pier, which is a little bit out of the way near gate 65, though the schlep is well worth it. Amazing lounge with great design and tons o...

  • I have had no issues checking in way before my flight at Hong Kong Airport. You can even do online check in 48 hours before departure, and just head straight through immigration (after, potentially, dropping your bags) with your mobile boarding pass and get into The Pier for five relaxing hours.
