Oneworld does not have a Diamond tier.
Are you confusing CX's Marco Polo Diamond status with Oneworld Emerald?

I assume, as per TRB above, that you mean Oneworld Emerald status.
If you'll be making the LAX-SYD trip regularly then QFF will be the way to go.
However if it's a one off and most of your flying is Domestic US then go with AA.
