If you fly that regularly you'll have status and not need QC membership. As someone who flies a few times a year the access it provides is handy.

A slight reduction in the cost is that, quite often, the membership fee can be tax deductible if you travel infrequently for work.

As a not particularly frequent flyer these days (slipped back to lifetime silver) the Qantas Club membership will come in handy given the few flights I expect to take.
