Royal Jordanian Plus - 55,000 miles to OWE

It was recently brought to my attention that Royal Jordanian's criteria for hitting OW Emerald (RJ Platinum) is only 55,000 tier miles (50,000 tier miles to retain)!!!

Further, there is a policy that as an RJ Platinum you earn 50% more tier miles for each flight you take (unclear if its limited to RJ metal or all OW carriers), which goes towards your 50,000 tier miles re-qualifying target!!!

Anyone out there with experience of RJ's programme? Would love to hear your experiences. God knows I've yapped on enough about Aadvantage! LOL

Basically if you read the T&Cs, there is also a minimum requirement of 20 RJ flights.

When you say FT, did you mean the Financial Times?

There is nothing regarding Royal Jordian in the FT recently, except news of a Royal Jordanian note to travel agents restricting travel of Jordanian men born between 1976 and 1996 (in case they're needed to fight ISIS).
