LAN Airlines - 787-9?

Hi all, just wanted to ask if anyone has an idea of when they will be flying there 787-9 aircraft on the syd-akl-scl route?

i see on airlineroute that they will be placing the said aircraft on the easter island and sao paulo routes next year. im looking forward to when they announce more routes i guess in the near future?

Hopefully the 787 will be more reliable than the 340 that is quite regularly cancelled.

I was booked on LAN to AKL earlier this year. It was cancelled and I was moved to a QF flight (all happened a few days before). The QF check in agent in SYD said the AKL-SYD-AKL leg often gets cancelled if yields are low. A non-stop option would make the route a lot more reliable.

O, thanks Tabs.

So yield or pax numbers also has a play in it, never thought of it that way.

I have one coming up in Apr next year, while being put onto a QF would be ideal (as I would earn QF FF and QF SC without having to phone up the QF FF service centre), small single aisle planes and me don't make a good match.

Sorry for the thread jack OP, but when and if the 787 comes into Aust - NZ operations, I would be happy, but it has not been mentioned on here or on AFF.

I flew LAN 787 from Santiago to Lima last year. Great experience on an almost empty plane.  Pity it was such a short flight!
