QF Upgrade Points - I have a few QF sectors coming up for Triangle and Trans Con, booked as Red e-deals and was wondering how I know if a confirmed upgrade will be available, or if I will be waitlisted for a classic upgrade. I am a Silver FF with both QFF and Velocity. I know Virgin only offered confirmed upgrades, and have used this multiple times, however QF appear to do a confirmed and waitlist?

As far as I'm aware domestic upgrades are confirmed immediately if available.

It can take up until 24 hours before your flight for you to find out about your upgrade. unfortunately for you, any gold/plat/plat one's will have their upgrades processed first. on the plus side, you are infront of the bronze plebs!
If the flights are still even a few weeks, they wont confirm your upgrade if they can sell it as a business class seat.

Great thanks! Their site is very ambiguous saying it can be straight away if available, perhaps that is for Plat/Gold? I love the fact VA confirm all tiers straight away, but dont have a waitlist.

If there is award availability for your domestic flights you will get upgraded immediately using that inventory, regardless of your status.
If there is no award availability you will be waitlisted and will find out around 24 hours prior to departure, with your request being processed based on status.
