I noticed in the September issue of "Qantas the Australian Way", there is an article on a Hong Kong Short Break. In the opening paragraph it mentions "With the A380 zipping up to Hong Kong daily....." This is not actually correct based on the current schedules. Does anyone know if there is any more changes to the schedules to HKG with the A380 becoming daily soon? The current schedules still have the B744 operating 4 times a week and the A380 3 times a week. Thanks

To my knowledge the intention is to take it to a daily service, however, it needs to prove its a viable service before going daily, just like they did with DFW.  The destination is obviously not new but using the A380 on it is, and it is up againt the 4 x daily service of CX.  The There is no set date yet.  I would be surprised if went daily before the year end.

Thanks for that....so the article was a little premature in its story writing.  I was hoping there would be an upgage to daily A380 before 27 November when  I am flying on an First Class redemption ticket to HKG. Oh well.

Looks like a typo to me - the schedules are still showing the 4 weekly A380/3 weekly 744 continuing into next year.

You never know though. They've got a spare plane now, so the announcement could be one day with daily service starting the next.
