Does anyone know if Melbourne Airport is going to open any Pay as you go Lounges, I see Plaza Premium is opening in Brisbane, I cant believe an airport the size of Melbourne doesn'

Does anyone know if Melbourne Airport is going to open any Pay as you go Lounges, I see Plaza Premium is opening in Brisbane, I cant believe an airport the size of Melbourne doesn't have one. I think the option of using such lounge is wonderful for travelers that don't otherwise have access to such facilities. The Emperor Lounge in Auckland is a wonderful example open to those wanting to pay.who otherwise don't qualify to enter Airline Lounges.

I may have just answered my own question, further reading of Lounge reviews I found an article on the Air New Zealand lounge, apparently any International departing passenger from Melbourne terminal 2 can acess that lounge for $55 for less than 4 hours and $85 for more than 4 hours, thats something at least - Thank You Air New Zealand.

Was that the lounge that was recently renovated?  If so I believe pay-in access is no longer available.

Air NZ changed this recently and none of their lounges allow paid entry anymore.

Gee, thats dissappointing news. About time Melbourne Airport got serious and put in a Paid for Lounge.
