Probably because it's no long commercially viable. Air NZ will still have AKL-LAX so nothing would change with the Star Alliance Lounge in LAX.

Haha, I'm the same as you. Whilst I can appreciate it isn't the most private when in seat-mode, the flights to North/South America are overnight, so when in bed-mode, it's one of the most comfortable sleeps in the sky. And yes, the service and food are great too.

Maybe before you comment, you actually fly on the aircraft. These are a new seat design, and having sat in the rear seats myself, the leg room is equivalent to an older 737 seat with 30-31” seat pitch.

I personally think NZ has the best hard product of all those carriers (direct aisle access, more comfortable bed, etc). I prefer their soft product too, but that's definitely something that is more personal preference. And the AKL transit is a big winner for me too.

767's will be gone by April.As has been mentioned above, I think the 772's have still got a few years in them, so maybe FY18 or FY19 we'll see some announcements.

Firstly, it hasn't been confirm it's being ditched yet (although probably likely).Secondly, they have two premium economy products, so who's to say it isn't the new black chair as well as the overall food/service which won the award?Thirdly, the Spaceseat is loved by some and hated by others, so ...

With the 767's being fully retired over the next 6-12 months, you'll see more of the 787 replacing those routes/flights.
