Considering QF points accrual, bonus offers, etc, what does everyone think about the ANZ Black card, NAB Premium and AMEX Ultimate? Any others recommended?

In my experience, American Express's customer service is excellent and so is their mobile app. ANZ is good on both fronts, can't comment on NAB.

Citibank and HSBC have dreadful apps and telephone customer service is not great either.

Just my experience, as the top credit card articles here never mention the app or what they're like if you have to call them. I'd rather a lower sign on bonus with better ongoing service.

That's not something we could really do in a way that's fair to all banks, as we'd need to hold at least one card from each of them (and use the app and customer service features thoroughly) to compare them fairly.

Some banks also prioritise customer service based on the type of product you hold - I have a few Black-level cards and whenever I need to call about something I usually get straight through, or don't wait longer than ~30 seconds, even if there's a recorded message first to say that the expected wait time is x minutes (or even x hours during some peak periods).

Can speak highly of AMEX customer service though - I've never had to make more than one phone call to achieve something, and their online messaging system is also a great way to sort things out. For instance, during their Shop Small promotion last year (spend $20, get $10 back up to 10 times), I tried to use AMEX at a business featured on their Shop Small map but which no longer accepted the card. Sent a brief online message about it and received a manual $10 credit to my AMEX account the same day!
