Looks like from 30 November 2017 Singapore Airlines are changing the SQ255/236 service from A330-300 to B777-200ER at BNE. This is only available to late March but assuming that it will be year-round. Hopefully the SQ235/256 becomes an A350 from here on in.

I'm actually surprised they keep switching the from A330's to 777's

The A330 has 285 seats, 30 in Business and 255 in Economy
The 772 has 271 seats, 26 in Business and 245 in Economy.

I've got a few A330 and 772 flights booked in November, December, and January and on all of the flights except one, the seat map is completely booked out (I understand SQ block seats but most of the seats were open when I booked around 4-5 months ago).

As a result, I'm not sure why they'd keep switching to aircraft with less demand including the 772 and A350 (which SQ operate as a premium heavy aircraft 42 in Business, 24 Premium and 187 in Economy).

SQ has to compete with QF A330 business suites. For this to happen, only a B777 lie flats can do or their A350. I would think once they receive 2-3 morr A350's BNE will get one A350 and 3 B777's

Thanks for the information above.

What is the current config for the SQ235 in Business?

We are flying BNE - SIN Boxing day (evening) this year to head back to Cambodia & Myanmar for the New Year and were pleased to pick up the 1-2-1 on the 200ER.

Would be great to return our journey refreshed on a similar hard product, as the dated business cabins can really limit the experience.

Sq235 is 2-2-2 in business on A330.

Looks like they are changing it on the 1 SEP 17. This is a lot earlier and schedules don't show it past late March so will be interesting to see what happens.
