When I arrived in LAX a few weeks ago, they directed me to the new machines that ask you questions and take your photo. I did all it requested then I went to the desk to present the slip of paper it gave me. The Attendant took my photo again, why? What is the point of the machine taking my photo if it needs to be done twice?

Did you get the 'X' printed on the receipt? If you don't, its just a stamp, if you do, then it's everything again.
