Kimpton Hotels launches Karma Rewards loyalty program

Kimpton Hotels, America’s largest boutique hotel chain, now recognises its frequent guests through Karma Rewards, which replaces the previous Kimpton InTouch loyalty scheme.

Right off the bat, members get free Wi-Fi and a $10 bar credit (or $15 in New York hotels) with every stay, and can keep their personal hotel preferences on file for future visits.

Similar to Hilton HHonors and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), the Kimpton program also lets travellers earn credits towards free hotel nights, and as you stay more within the group, you’ll quickly climb the status ladder.

Starting at Tier 1, you’ll progress to Tier 2 after either 10 nights or three stays each year – netting a $30 spa credit at participating hotels and free room upgrades where available.

Seven stays or 20 nights gets you up to Tier 3, where any late check-out requests are handled with priority. There’s a welcome amenity too, along with a complimentary ‘chef’s taste’ every time you dine at a Kimpton hotel restaurant.

Top-tier ‘Inner Circle’ members earn their threads from either 40 nights or 14 stays, but it’s well worth it to enjoy greater award availability, a dedicated reservation line and even free nights at new hotels with a $50 dining credit on the side.

The chain’s crème de la crème are also promised “exclusive, direct access to Kimpton’s CEO” when armed with questions or providing feedback.

Free nights are up for grabs after every seven eligible stays or 20 eligible nights, which sees members earning their first free visit when attaining Tier 3 status.

You’ll also pocket two free nights after staying at 10 different Kimpton hotels within a calendar year, with extra nights also on offer after 15 and 20 stays.

Membership is free, so even if you’re only staying with Kimpton as a one-off, it’s well worth joining for the free Internet access and bar credit.
