Sorry, can't help you on FF program options, but just wanted to say kudos for routing via Japan for your trips to Europe (unless family/work forces you to go there!). I think it's one of the best options for a stop-over and I wish QF did more with other OW airlines to facilitate this.

Actually this would be a godsend for Qantas. FF points are treated as a liability in the accounts and once redeemed, can be treated as revenue. This would massively affect their expected $300m expected 2nd half loss, in a good way.

I wonder whether you should pick slightly different flights (if you're flying domestic and this suits your plans)?
