    $4k per person plus points .... You are doing something wrong here. As other have said use the Qantas website and select classic rewards. You may also find it easier to fly into europe rather than the UK as it will open up more options from OW partners

    been in a similar situation my solution was to use pts for both one way then pay for both on the 2nd leg. - miss out on a few pts but opens up the fly ahead and economy x to both.
