    On any flight arriving in the USA you must clear Immigration & Customs including collecting your bags from the carousel. No exceptions. Never rely on an airline's minimum permitted connection time.

    It won't happen anytime soon if the time to fitout the current QF Lounge at LHR is any indication. Just the construction phase alone took close to 3 years, with white plywood hoarding across the entrance for that long.
