China Southern gears up for Canton Trade Fair

China Southern is ramping up its efforts to win over Australian and New Zealand business travellers by offering discounted flights from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Auckland to Guangzhou for the next Canton Trade Fair.

The fares are available to registered delegates at the Canton Trade Fair, which with a total exhibition area covering 1.16 million square metres, almost 60,000 exhibitors and over 200,000 buyers is the  world’s largest trade expo.

People who register online to visit the Canton Trade Fair before March 31st 2014 will receive a discount code for China Southern Airways, which can be redeemed when they book a flight through China Southern's Australian or New Zealand call centres.

“This is the beginning of a concerted new marketing effort to attract more businesspeople from Australia, New Zealand and the Oceania region to visit the Canton Trade Fair" said Mr Wang Yanhua, Vice President of the China Foreign Trade Centre.

More than 120,000 Australians have attended the twice-yearly Canton Trade Fair since 2000, and Australia consistently ranks among the top ten visitor countries to the event.

Tried to go to Canton Fair last year, the organisers took forever to answer simple emails and still didn't get it right, obtaining the VISA was simply over the top, gaveup and cancelled out. They'd need to lift their game to get me there.
