Hi!

My boss turns 60 next month and his greatest passion is travel.

I need to buy him an amazing gift related to travel, but not much comes to mind that is truly special.

He has travel wallets, toiletry kits, noise cancelling headphones, large and small luggage...blah blah blah

So I have no clue what to get him! lol

How about being of the first commercial flight of the Jetstar 787

Do you have a budget in mind? If you were to pool funds from all your colleagues - what would it come to?

At the one extreme end of the spectrum (expensive) there is a company called Captains Choice tours (google them) - they offer incredible travel experiences - well worth a look at

I'd try to pool funds and book him a ride on the QF flightsiim. It can be bought from the QFF online shop and includes a tour through the facilities and flight with an instructor in a simulator.

I've done the flight sim and it is definitely something a lot of frequent travellers would enjoy

A new carry on bag.  Perhaps one of the soft carry on types from Tom Bihn (Tri-Star or Aeronaut) or Red Oxx (Air Boss).

Hey guys. Great ideas, but he isn't into planes themselves. He loves travelling, visiting new cities, art and history. Basically sticks to Europe mostly. He has all the usual things: travel wallets, cameras, luggage etc. While the stuff he has is fine, id like a unique item. As 11sjw suggested, I have been looking at Carry On's, and am aware of the awesome tom bihn tri star bag. Its unique and a quality versatile piece that has the wow factor im looking for. But it isn't suitable because my boss is a "wheel it" kinda guy when it comes to any size of luggage.

My budget is up to $400.

One possibility is exceptional noise cancelling headphones, but as he flys business class everywhere (Sing or Cathay) I wonder if that would be a waste as these are usually supplied. Though I doubt they'd be as good as Bose lol.

So I guess I am looking for a really special item that will make people go "Wow". Something unique up to $400.

So far I have found this: its unique, very clever and no one else around him would own it...

What do you think? I am open to any suggestions

For something different I would recommend the Victorinox Tri-Fold Garment bag.

For domestic travel it fits my business shirts, suits, and doubles as laptpop bag, and slides over a normal piece of wheel luggage.

Check out the new design and concept in travel pillows from online at TravelComfort.

It provides complete support for your head so you can get the best sleep, and arrive rested and relaxed.

Makes a unique, useful and great Christmas present as well .
