Travelling from LGW to DXB on a QF flight number onboard EK metal soon. Is there a fast track security service at LGW's North Terminal? And if so, as a Oneworld Emerald frequent flyer am I entitled to use this facility? Many thanks

trevor, is your OW Emerald with Qantas? If it's not with Qantas and given you're flying on EK metal I doubt you will be eligible for Fasttrack. This is on the assumption that you're flying in Economy and hold no status with Skywards.

Thanks TheRealBabushka. My OW Emerald is indeed with Qantas. And yes I will be travelling in Economy and I do not hold any status with Skywards

No worries trevor. OW benefits only extend to members when both the following conditions are met:

  1. Member is flying on OW marketed flight
  2. Member is flying on OW operated flight

While your LGW/DXB sector is marketed by QF (i.e. the flight has a QF flight number), that flight is operated by EK; colloquially known as "flying EK metal".

In your case, since both conditions are not met, any OW specific benefits, such as Fast Track security will not be available to you.

However given that you are a QFF Platinum (or Plat1/CL) you may be able to gain access to Fast Track Security on the basis of the EK/QF tie up.

If I were you, I'd ask the check-in agent if there was some sort of pass to access Fast Track. From my knowledge of LHR, such passes are not handed out. I assume that is the case for LGW. Your boarding pass is the basis of entry to Fast Track.

But there is no harm asking or pointing out to the agent at the Fast Track gates that you're a "premium" flyer. They might let you in. I got my parents through Fast Track Security at LHR once even though they were in Y, I was in J and we were on different flights (they were on SQ and I on AA).

Hope this helps!
