How does one make reservations on American Airlines codeshare flights within Australia?

How does one make reservations on American Airlines codeshare flights within Australia? I want to satisfy the requirement of taking four AA numbered flights per year to gain AAdvantage status.

I don't believe AA has the rights to sell AU domestic point to point tickets  using its code (AA code).

Although you will see some domestic QF flights with AA codes, these are sold by AA as part of a flight to the United States. 

So as indicated in previous posts, Aadvantage is a great programme if one often travels internationally, particularly to or via the United States.
