I noticed recently on the Qantas site that flights to Honolulu are listed as flown by A330-300's as opposed to the old 767's.

Can any recent travellers on this route confirm wether this is the case or not as I don't wish to get too excited just yet.

Lurch,

Chris did a story on this some time ago. Google the following "qantas honolulu ausbt a330" and the first search result will take you to the article on this site. I'd attach the link here.

In short SYD/HNL would be operated using an A330.

Lurch,

I was in HNL 3days last week and at the gate regularly used by QF3/4 was a 767.I do not know if it was reconfigered and or an aircraft swap as i flew from the US mainland on another carrier.I can also tell you Lurch their was an A330 at the same gate a few days later. So it appears they are mixing them up because it states on the QF web site A330.

There was NOT a Qantas A330 at HNL recently. The switch to A330s doesn't occur until September, and all the records I'm looking at show zero variations from the 767s in the last 18 months.

Lurch - like I mentioned, the A330s start in September (or it might be October). Looooong overdue!!!

I'm looking. No A330s in sight (there is an 'unknown' for June 8 but FR24 confirms that it was VH-OGS, a 767.)

I'm looking too. No A330s at all.

FR24 shows all B763 from 14 May to 20 Jun.

The QF timetable for the 14th Sept says an A333, maybe due to school holiday loads, they have upgraded the service.  I checked in March next year and is back to the B767.

My appoligies,

For my statement,I have travelled on two occasions and flightaware said A380 for QF11, each time a 744.And reported on there site even thu  that aircraft did not operate. The A330 was there in HNL last week  may be QF has got a configeration complete but can not provide a full schedual and do not report it i dont know. But then again they have more aircraft schedual changes than any other airline of their size.

Back to the OP - did dummy booking for:

*August - was a B767

*Spetember - was a 767 until Friday 12. Then A330 from Sunday 14

* October - was an A330

This would suggest that QF3/4 will change to A330 on 14 September - of course equipment can change
