Does Sydney Airport Collect the Express Passes once you have used them?

My experience is most dont,but some certainly do.

Does Jetstar hand them out?

I have seen Jetstar Express Cards before but who do they hand them out to?

When flying Star Class my family and I were given them.  Turned out as we were first off our flight (from HNL) we didn't need them and walked straight through the general queue.

Not sure if they give them to QF Platinums/Oneworld Emeralds.

I've flown to/from SYD international on NZ and sometimems VA (under their trans-tasman alliance) and every single time my express path card has been taken from me. I suppose they dont want them in the hands of random people? Certainly just flashing a FF card or J or F boarding pass should seem sufficient instead of having to have a card...

I have a handful of inbound and outbound cards. They seem to be getting better at collecting. I have found that if you are travelling with someone they usually only take 1 of them.

Mine have been collected every single time by the person manning the lane.  No pass, no entry to the lane.

I've accumulated a full deck of QF cards for both departure and arrival, mostly through SYD...

I have a 100% collection rate outbound. Inbound I haven't used anyway, as I use SmartGate.

Outbound from SYD mine have always been collected, although sometimes once I'm done with the passport guy I notice that the normal security lanes are quiet, so I slip over there, by passing the express security lane which is where the person collecting the passes usually is. i've managed to keep a few that way. Inbound, I usually use the pass for customs, although sometimes it seems like they are just herding everyone through the express gate.

Same as rob01, always collected at the security queue at SYD

Depending on what the lines are like however I sometimes dart up the other end to use the APEC queue instead, and if regular security is light will bank the card.

Have lots of Inbound Qantas cards given they often hand them out at the F desk on departure, and then again inbound on the plane.

See its the Airport cause Brisbane never collects them!

I have a pile of hundreds :)

  i just show the business class boarding pass and they  just scan that.That happened just a few weeks ago, other times they havent bothered collecting them outbound, inbound

i just show the Bus class boarding pass and they scan that

There is usually a staff member at the entrance of the express lane and another one near the smartgates these days
