With Qantas do you get preferential upgrade to Business with FF points if you are travelling Premium Economy.

Why would you get a preferential upgrade from Y+ to J?  Do you mean as opposed to from Y to J? nternational Flight Upgrade Award requests are prioritised according to your QFF membership level.

No ,you will only get preferential treatment  if you are a gold or  platinum  FF or the same  equivalent  one world member 

I remember reading about the complexity of points upgrade priorities.  Essentially it gives first priority to those with the highest QFF Status.  Yes, a Y+ passenger would get priority over a Y passenger for an upgrade to J if their Status was equal, but there are many other factors in the matrix.

Does anyone have the list of priorities for QFF points upgrades?

"Your request for an international Flight Upgrade Award will be considered in accordance with the following timetable:

• Platinum One Frequent Flyers, from 7 days prior to the scheduled flight departure;
• Platinum Frequent Flyers, from 48 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure; and
• Other Frequent Flyers, within 24 hours of the scheduled flight departure.

International Flight Upgrade Award requests are always prioritised according to your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership level: Platinum first, followed by Gold, Silver and then Bronze."
