Bugs on the Qantas website.

Has anyone noticed this particular bug on the Qantas website?

Issue: It does not seem to capture non-QFF frequent flyer numbers in the booking.

Impact: Pax are not able to allocate seats or other functions which requires validation of pax's frequent flyer status/OW status.

If anyone else encounters this bug, could they please Twitter Qantas so that it will be picked up expeditiously? Sorry I do not use Twitter!

As a manual workaround, use Finnair's Manage My Booking function to enter each traveller's FF number after completing the booking.

So do I understand correctly that basically you enter your QF booking number in the Finnair "manage my booking" section, where you can add say your AA FF number and because systems are linked it wil show up in your QF booking? That's remarkable!

KG, that's correct.  This is quite a popular trick amongst the frequent flyer community and works most of the time.

Malaysian bookings do not show up in my qff account so I cant get seating etc as a platinum member. Do I understand that I can do as KG suggests too and then i can work on my booking....?

No, Malaysia Airlines uses it's own GDS (booking engine) from the rest of oneworld. If you booked your ticket through MAS, then the booking will never have an Amadeus (the GDS which Qantas uses) booking reference number and will therefore never appear through the Qantas website.

However, your status should be recognised by MAS if you provided your QFF number at the time of booking which would've allowed you to select seats if booked on their website. Otherwise, you can ring MAS to provide your QFF number and have them manually assign your seats.

Dave, MH bookings don't show up on QF's Manage My Booking because the two airlines use different GDSs. (QF uses Amadeus and MH uses SITA, though MH will usually also issue a Sabre-equivalent record locator.)

To receive your preferential seating you would need to call up MH and request this.

I've never had any problem getting seat allocated on MH when they recognise OWE status.

Have you tried calling the MH call centre in KL? The 13 number that MH provides on its website goes through to them.

Did you ask them what the system is showing as your OW status?
