Question for watson374.

From your previous comments, it appears you are a frequent user of the Admirals Lounge passes. Can you please confirm if a 30 day lounge pass entitles a user to invite a guest into the Qantas Club when flying on Qantas code and metal? I've got a friend who wants to purchase the USD99 pass but wasn't sure if he needed to get another one for his partner.

Thank you!

Hey up TRB!

I've never actually tried guesting anyone, but there is an explicit provision to bring a guest in. AA allows two guests on its own metal and lounges, but I wouldn't try taking in more than one guest on QF.

I am certain there is no provision prohibiting guesting (as there is with the one-time Qantas Club invites).

It is unfortunately another of those things that has slipped through the cracks. AA explicitly says that for Qantas Clubs (using SYD as my data point), 30 Day members are welcome. This is explicitly confirmed on the QF website.

However, while the AA website states that a 30 Day member can bring in two guests or immediate family, this is a general program entitlement, and I've interpreted it to refer only to their own lounges. QF does not have a stated guest quota for Admirals Club members, but given their usual guesting limit is one person, I've reverted to that.

Long story cut short, if it's just your friend and his partner, they'll be alright with just the one pass.

Hi TRB.

i purchased the 30 day pass in July and 2 guests accompanied me into the sydney lounge. So your friend will definitely be fine with just 1 pass.

just to confirm- I was flying on Qantas metal.

thanks

I've used this before on a group trip to the States. Had 6 passes for 18 of us at $33 each and we accessed Brisbane Qantas lounge, Admirals Lounge in LA for a domestic connecting flight, Miami Admirals lounge and then LA Qantas Lounge on the return leg to Sydney and then used it one last time at the Sydney domestic Qantas lounge for the domestic flight home to Brisbane. I had called ahead to the Brisbane lounge to confirm we could use the passes, and the entire time all 18 of us had no problems. $33 per person for 5 visits during a 3 week trip.
