Why would it? It's massively profitable on the model that it currently uses.

I wouldn't think so.....the Singapore owners are quite conservative with the money spending.  It's not like Tiger Airways has been a roaring success ;-)

What I would like to know is what type of aircraft REX is going to head towards after the Saab 340's life span has been exhausted.

They will most likely phase them out when they find a more fuel effiecient option, like they did with the fairchild metro's.
