Early on line check in and bag drop on EK is it possible?
I am flying MEL to KUL on EK leaving at 2:40 am and being a plat QFF wanted to access the F lounge for dinner before the flight before moving onto the new ek lounge. This will mean that I will need to checkin for my EK flight6 hours before departure. Can I do this online and does EK then have a bag drop facility like QF?
Having taken that flight numerous times last year, in my experience the answer to bag drop is no. As EK doesn't have any other departures near that time there are no checkin or bag drop services open until 3 hours before scheduled departure. I was never able to access the QF F Lounge prior to that flight.
Don't know whether it is practical or not, but Terminal 2 has a 'SmartCarte Luggage' storage facility located on the Ground Floor.
Baggage Storage operates from 5am -12.30am, seven days a week. Photo ID is required for storage. Cost for 4 hours is AUD$10.00 according to the MEL Airport website. For questions contact SmarteCarte via www.baggagestorage.com.au
