I'm travelling with my family on Qantas Business from SFO-SYD. One of my family is having their birthday on the flight. Does QF have a similar service to SQ, whereby you can book a cake or such? If so, where can I reserve it?

What stopping you to bring cake on board? And I am sure they cut it for you no probs. Distinctive advantage that you can have cake of your choice and even can have decorated one for an occasion.

I guess BYO cake is too much hassle for someone who can afford /eligible for whole family to fly J class.....

Anyone can afford the cake so it's more than just that, OP never said they taking their cake on-board is too much hassle.
