I have a points stockpile due to expire Nov 2017. My youngest child turns 3 in March 2018 and we dont want to fly before he turns 3. SQ stock becomes available 355 days early so availabilty will open up around 10 March 2017 for seats in March 2018. Do I need to extend the points, expiring Nov 2017, to use them in Mar 2018.

SQ guide states: "Award tickets are valid for 12 months from the date of the first flight as ticketed, unless otherwise specified".
I believe this means that if you book before expiry of your points in Nov 2017, you could reserve a flight to depart in Oct 2018 with your return date before Oct 2019. No need to extend your points.
