I understand that Emirates offer paid upgrades from business to first when availability exists. Travelling Melbourne to Dubai soon on a 777 (eww...another story)...looking to see if anyone has (1) been offered an upgrade on check in and (2) what was the cost for a one way upgrade from J to F. Not sure if this will be offered given I'm travelling on a QF ticket with EK metal. Thanks guys!
Not sure about MEL/DXB but it's been offered to me before between SYD/AKL when I was booked flying EK on a QF ticket, the price was A$299.. which was instantly turned down.

I haven't had an on-check-in offer, but I've had an email offer at T-3 days, which was a first-in-first-served offer.
