Qantas status bonus - wait until after anniversary date?

If I've been offered the 50 SC or 8000 points status bonus and my anniversary is up at the end of the month, can I wait until after the anniversary date to accept the bonus and put my 50 SC towards next year? Already attained gold and not going to get to platinum in the next three weeks.

I believe you have 90 days to make a decision around the offer between SCs and points. Last year I waited until Jan 1st (when my membership year begins) to get the 50SC, so you shouldn't have an issue :)

Put a note in your calendar for early next month to remind you to take the bonus. I would take it on the 2nd.

I just did exactly that - waited until I went past my anniversary date (which I call my Qantas New Year) and then chose the status credits. They count towards gold or platinum retention but not for platinum one.
