As an employee of a company that has recently moved across to an outsourced corporate travel system (Serko), I have to admit to being a little skeptical about the proposed gains. However, I have just run a quick cost comparison and Serko saved the company $49 on the Virgin- Mel/Syd return - it might not appear to be much, but I fly at least once a week, often twice, so it adds up. I'm surprised as I would have assumed that loyalty to Virgin and booking directly via the Virgin website would have been the least expensive option....

We have moved to Serko recently and they seem to be getting better airfares than we could before and we can only chose QF anyway as that is our company policy. In regards to accomodation though they are not very good, I can get much better deals direct with IHG, Hilton or Accor and much better room options and Serko never put your hotel loyalty number on the booking, even though the number is loaded in my details, Serko seem to lean toward cheap dodgy self contained units which most of them I would never stay in ever.
