At check-in today on a RGN-SIN flight I was informed that I was #1 on the list for an upgrade as the flight was oversold. I was surprised as I didn't think SQ did that sort of thing. Also, as a Aegean Gold I'd have thought there be some PPS or KrisFlyers ahead of me! Sadly, it didn't come through as there were some no shows.
Any one had better luck than me recently on getting free upgrades on SQ?
The parents (1 x Gold VA + 1 x Platinum VA), who were on the same booking as my brother (VA Gold) and sister-in-law + niece & nephew, received an upgrade from Adelaide to Singapore at Christmas.

I got a free upgrade J -> F flying SIN-MEL in January this year; first time ever on SQ and I am PPS.

I was PPS for 4 years straight, was only upgraded 3 times after 37 trips, ive had more luck with Qantas and Virgin than SQ.
