What about becoming an official partner of the 'Etihad Airways Partner' alliance? This alliance seems to becoming more and more official. My airberlin card sports a bigger Etihad logo in the top left than the little OneWorld logo in the bottom right. Same with Alitalia.

QF told me last time I swung past the check-in desks that it's only for Platinums.. Is that correct?

Excellent stuff Chris. To top off this nice set of articles, it might be worth mentioning that AirBerlin are currently status matching. They set a 4 month challenge to achieve a certain number of status miles in that time. You just need to make contact with a scan of you current card and activity...

Landside was actually quite helpful recently. I had 5 hours to waste before an international flight (after an inbound domestic arrival). I picked my 2 pieces of luggage off the belt and walked up the stairs and into the lounge with them no problem.

I've done this many times with no problem. You carry the gold card and flash that for the benefits while putting the points elsewhere right from the start. The alternative way of doing it is to link your AirNZ number to the booking and get them to change it at the gate just before you step on the ...

My partner and I both received very enticing upgrade offers to PE (the slider scale starts at $285) but we're on seperate bookings. If we put in the same offer what's the chance that one will be upgraded and not the other? It's an A350 SIN-BCN. Anyone been in this boat before?
