Timing the Qantas Loyalty Bonus (50 extra status credits) to count towards new membership year

Hi,

I've just received the option for the QF loyalty bonus (8000 pts or 50 SC). I'm already plat and my anniversary is end of Feb 2020. The option expires March 31 2020 and I want to keep the SC to tack onto the new year. Does anyone know if that is possible? I'm not going to make plat1 by the end of Feb and have no desire for the 8000pts.

As it stands, the SC will count to the membership year at the time you make the selection. So if you make your choice after the end of Feb 2020, they will count in the new year,,

Do it every year, wait until your anniversary date has passed and then start the new year with the 50.
