I reached Platinum status in December after having dropped to gold status for many years however everytime I check in to a CX flight (I live in Asia) it's still showing QF gold status / OW Sapphire so I am not getting the benefit of first class lounges despite having the platinum card and the status on the app being updated. CX are telling me it's still sapphire in their system and the QF lounge in HK is seeing the same issue with it showing me as QF gold. My FF anniversary is end of March so the extra 4 months of Platinum benefits is quickly fading. 5 flights and 5 emails and calls to QFFF and issue still not fixed. Has anyone else had this issue?

Were the flights booked before you reached Platinum?

Have they tried removing and adding again your frequent flyer number to your bookings?

Not saying you have not checked, but if you are QF Platinum, you may have attained the status credits but not the QF sectors that are essential to get the Platinum showing up on your app.

If the QF call centre is showing you as platinum, why not get them to email you this information and you could show this at the lounge?

I note Rob your saying that you have the Platinum card and Status on the App? This suggests to me that Qantas "think" you're Platinum. That however doesn't explain why staff at the QF Lounge don't see the same?

Certainly sounds inconsistent. Regardless of what their systems say at the lounge, or even on your Boarding Pass for that matter, I would have thought that so long as your FF number appears on the Boarding Pass AND you can present your freshly minted Platinum card (complete with the little green OWE symbol) then that should be enough for lounge entry?

Airlines want to see the status reflected on their computer systems. Sometimes for partner airlines/lounges this can take a week or so after status is obtained.

Occasionally things get stuck in the system somewhere. For bookings made prior to obtaining status usually removing the frequent flyer number from the booking and re-adding it fixes this.

What happens when you show your physical card at the lounge?

The reason I ask is because I'm Qantas Platinum until 31 August (One World Emerald) but currently crediting all my flights to British Airways (with whom I'm only Bronze). All I need to do is show my QF card at the First Class check in counter (when flying economy) and when entering the BA First Lounge. I've specifically asked them and they say all they care about is seeing a valid card with the green One World emblem (i.e., emerald).

It sounds like a system error. In my case moving from Gold to Platinum happened at check in for a flight from Melbourne to Adelaide and the qantas club staff member who checked me in escorted me into the business lounge as I had just reached Platinum. Cathay not seeing the Platinum status is one think, but sure the QF lounge in HK should be in the full picture.
