Virgin Australia is adding a string of six-star resorts to its roster of Velocity Frequent Flyer partners.

You may not recognise the name of new partner Kerzner International, but you'll be familiar with some of its luxury properties including Atlantis at Dubai and The Bahamas plus One&Only Resorts.

This includes the new One&Only Resort Hayman Island, in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, which opens in July this year.

"The ultra-luxury private island resort will feature villas and penthouses amongst expansive pools, world-class restaurants, a state-of-the-art fitness centre surrounded by diverse marine life and pristine white sand", Virgin Australia boasts.

To kick off the new partnership, Velocity members will also enjoy the following benefits for stays at One&Only Hayman Island from July 1 to September 30:

  • double Points and 25% savings on accommodation for reservations made between May 27 and July 31, 2014
  • complimentary upgrade to the next available guest room category for reservations made by June 30, 2014

Earning rates at One&Only Hayman Island will be "up to 6 Points per Australian dollar"  from July 1 to September 30 2014, with 1000 Points per stay at any Kerzner International resort.
