New executive lounge adds lustre to JW Marriott Hong Kong

Hong Kong's landmark JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong recently completed an extensive makeover of its Executive Lounge, with a sweeping refresh of all 608 rooms and suites due to be completed by the end of September.

Standing on Hong Kong Island atop Pacific Place, and just a short stroll from Admiralty MTR station, the JW Marriott is a popular hub for corporate travellers as well as holidaymakers.

And tucked away on the hotel's fifth floor, the Executive Lounge now boasts a sleek design with a chic yet sophisticated vibe.

The mix of stylish and refined materials including patina dark flooring and polished shelving with exposed brick and black steel for a unique look that's modern without being brash.

There's plenty of room and ample natural light so that guests can kickstart their day with a hearty breakfast, huddle in one of the two meeting rooms, or wrap up the night with a nightcap and a selection of delectable hors d’oeuvres from the kitchen, which takes pride of place in the centre of the lounge.

That selection includes popular dishes from the hotel's restaurants, such as barbecued pork and shrimp wonton noodles during the evening cocktail hours. There are also weekly wine tasting and cocktail sessions.

Use of the Executive Lounge is extended to guests staying at the hotel's Executive Rooms and Executive Suites along with Marriott Rewards Elite members.

As for the rooms, guests can look forward to new furnishings and a warm and soothing palette and an increased emphasis on rest, with thick seven-layer mattresses and a bewildering choice of six of pillows, while the entire hotel will become a no-smoking zone.

The JW Marriott has also added two new types of suites – Hong Kong Suites and Bauhinia Suites, located on levels 33 and 34 – with spacious floorplans, luxurious appointments and walk-in closets.
