Embraer's E2 jet – the second generation in its E-Jet family which includes the popular E190 – will take to the skies next year, but we've got a first look inside the sleek commercial aircraft.
The concept cabins created by London-based studio Priestmangoode include some unique touches such as a large 'welcome' screen at the doorway.
The E2's business class cabin introduces a staggered 2-2 layout in which the window and aisle seats are offset from one another.
Priestmangoode says the design offers "an enhanced sense of personal space, improved carry on capacity and cleaner sight lines" for passengers.
The economy seats have a conventional 2-2 layout but the E2 can also be configured to include an 'Economy +' section with increased legroom.
The internal windows have been designed to appear larger, creating a greater feeling of space...
... with LED mood lighting providing an additional lift to the interior.
An oversized panel above each seat provides easy access to reading lights and air-conditioning vents.

... while the lack of legs between the seats make it easier for passengers to stow smaller personal bags under the seat in front of them.
It also seems that the seats can be offered to airline customers with a natty 'tablet adaptor' for using Apple iPad or Android tablets as an inflight entertainment system.
The E2's loos sport clean lines with a touchless tap and integrated hand rails in the internal walls.
The mirror has been pushed back, maximising benchtop space and removing areas that would otherwise be 'dirt traps.'

Embraer will roll out E2 prototypes for the E190, E195 and E175 members of the E-Jet family, with the E190 E2 first cab off the rank. It's expected to begin test flights next year ahead of delivery to customers in the first half of 2018.

I hope Virgin Australia purcahses a nice fleet of the E2 E190s - better than the 738 IMO

It may be 'better' than the 738 but it doesn't provide the same level of capacity.
That said, the staggered recliners might make 2-3-2 palatable on an A330 for QF. Hmm, ideas...
