• I've done it often - nothing to do with prestige, just get through security much much quicker.

  • Then there are people like me who have retired and more than likely won't qualify if I have to apply for a new card, but have continued to make my monthly payments on my Black Altitude card without any problem.

  • As you get priority boarding, you should be able to get on the plane before the passenger at the back can get at those bins.

  • Tackle jet lag with 'dine on demand'

Had planned to use Dine on Demand on recent EH trip from Perth to London. Choice was very limited and mainly snack foods - didn't seem to be anything healthy at all.I was also very unimpressed at how long it took me to get a cup of tea when I woke up on the leg from AUH to LON. Velocity Platinum members have access to the Etihad First Class lounge (which can be a bit hard to find - it's before you get to the shopping arcade when you come out of security). I was offered a complimentary neck and shoulder massage, and the full dining room experience.

  • Flew EY to London in J class in March/April. Disappointed with service compared with 18 months previously (when I flew to/from Amsterdam); it was OK but nothing like what it had been before (my sister had a similar experience out of Melbourne recently, compared with 12 months ago). Service to/fro...
